Instructions for applying for a Certified, Classified, Administrative, or Guest Teacher position with Laveen Elementary School District are outlined below. Applications for the various open positions in our district can be downloaded from the sidebar at the right. View benefits and salary schedules on the Salary & Benefits page. Administrative and Certified Application Process

Certified positions include:

  • Teachers
  • Counselors
  • Nurses

If completing the Certified Application, please complete and return the Certified Application along with the required documents:

  1. A current resume.
  2. Legible copies of transcripts.
  3. Three letters of professional recommendation including letters from teaching supervisors. If you do not have teaching experience, letters of reference are acceptable.

If available, submit copies of the following items with your application:

  1. Copy of your Arizona Teaching Certificate.
  2. Copy of your Education Proficiency Assessment test results.
  3. Copy of your Arizona fingerprint clearance card.
  4. Copy of documentation showing successful completion of 15 hours in Structured English Immersion (SEI) or an ESL, SEI, or bilingual full endorsement.

Classified positions include all support staff positions that do not require a teaching or administrative certificate to perform their job. This includes positions like clerical, maintenance, bus drivers, aides, and many others.

Steps for applying for open Classified Positions are outlined as follows:

  1. Employment Application and any other required materials* must be received by the closing date of the position. When completing the application, be sure to:
    • Follow all directions carefully.
    • Answer all questions completely. Your application will be screened based on the information you provide. 
    • Print clearly in ink or type your responses.
    • *Other required materials include resume, three letters of recommendation, and a copy of your diploma or G.E.D., etc.
  2. Applications must meet all requirements of the position for which application is made.

All applicants hired who were born after January 1, 1957, must submit sufficient evidence or medical records of measles and rubella vaccination.

All applicants hired will be required to complete a notarized affidavit indicating whether he/she is awaiting trial on, has been convicted of, or has admitted committing certain criminal offenses outlined in Arizona Revised Statute 15-512.

If you are selected for employment, as a condition of employment, you are required to be fingerprinted in accordance with Arizona Revised Statute 15-512 and will be required to pay a $24.00 fee for such fingerprinting expenses.



Guest Teacher applicants must complete a Guest Teacher Application and attach the following:

  • Copy of Arizona Substitute Certificate
  • Copy of Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Official College Transcripts
  • Current Resume

Our office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday - Friday.

Guest Teacher Pay Rate:

  • $85 per full day
  • $100 per full day after 21 days of service
  • $120 for long term (10 consecutive days in the same assignment)
